Board of Directors

The 14-member DoMo Partnership board consists of property and business owners. Board members are appointed after demonstrating an understanding of the organizational approach and philosophy through participation at the committee level.

The board is responsible for:

  • Organizational Policy (legal and procedural conduct of the organization)
  • Strategic Planning (setting a vision, mission and strategic priorities)
  • Committee Oversight (recruiting, monitoring/coordinating work, and supporting)
  • Funding and Financial Management (fundraising, budgeting, auditing)
  • Organizational Advocacy (public relations, public policy recommendations)
  • Program Evaluation (standards-of-performance review and monitoring)
  • Personnel Matters (hiring/evaluating CEO, recruiting board members)


Committees help with the development and implementation of the organization’s strategic direction. Committees are comprised of five to eight members who meet as needed to coordinate work plans, monitor strategy and ensure productivity throughout the downtown. The committees are divided into four main focus areas — Hospitality, Economic Restructuring, Promotions and Urban Design.

  • The Hospitality Committee is responsible for hospitality-related items downtown – keeping downtown safe, clean and immaculate, with focus on the details that will ensure visitors feel welcome and comfortable.
  • The Economic Restructuring Committee focuses on correcting structural issues that limit downtown’s economic success such as fees, permitting processes and parking management. Its focus is on converting unused or underutilized space into economically productive property and sharpening the competitiveness and profitability of the business district as a whole.
  • The Promotions Committee is responsible for identifying and reinforcing downtown’s positive identity by marketing the district’s unique characteristics to shoppers, investors, new businesses and visitors. The committee works to attract visitors through advertising, retail promotional activity, special events and marketing campaigns.
  • The Urban Design Committee manages all design-related facets of downtown, from buildings to open space, to ensure that downtown is appealing to visitors and remains relevant. Capitalizing on its best assets — such as a pedestrian-oriented layout that fosters great opportunities for social connection and great historic architecture — the committee works to convey an appealing visual message about what downtown is and what it has to offer.


The CEO of the DoMo Partnership reports to the board and is responsible for the management of the organization. The CEO generally attends all meetings in an effort to establish and maintain the DoMo Partnership’s vision and strategic direction and oversee the implementation of all work plans.
